To help business owners and managers prevent and manage commercial disputes law firm Cousins Business Law has published a free guide entitled “The Definitive Guide to Solving Business Disputes”. The guide stresses the significant cost to business of badly managed disputes and provides practical advice on how to avoid conflict in the workplace as well as steps to take should a dispute be on the cards.

In the guide dispute management solicitor Nigel Musgrove shares his 30 years' worth of experience with business owners, including advice on how you can save on solicitors’ fees.

Nigel explains the motivation for writing the guide; “Disputes cost UK businesses over £33 billion every year and only a part of that cost (£6bn) is accounted for by legal fees. The remainder is the cost of the damage caused by the conflict, in lost production and management time, the breakdown of business relationships and for some complete business failure.

“Although there are those who suggest that in the cut and thrust of the business world some conflict is inevitable we’d argue that these minor skirmishes don’t have to turn into full blown war.

“The Guide includes 6 essential tips for avoiding disputes with customers, suppliers and employees as well as a series of steps you can take if conflict seems inevitable.”

“It’s the kind of advice we give our clients on a regular basis and is peppered throughout our website but this pulls it all together in one handy Guide.” guide to solving business disputes
